[Ironic, really. Pain can relate to pain, darkness to darkness, but both of these instinctively shy away from themselves by their own nature. It's the bright and happy that mingle, as that's been proven to be safe and enjoyable/ The opposite, despite it logically being the optimal way to heal and understand, reacts to what it knows, and thus turns away.
